花手水・はなちょうず　　

花手水には季節の旬な花々を浮かべるのが定番となっており、彩り豊かなのも特徴です。

最近テレビの街紹介で店先に花を浮かべた鉢をおいて飾っている番組を見ていつか写真が撮れたらと常々心掛けていました。

今回、お墓参りに立川市羽衣町にある立川山 正楽院に行ってきました。

そこで、偶然ですが、鉢にお花が飾ってあるのを見て、これが花手水だと気付きました。

色彩豊かな花々がその華やかな見た目に癒やされました。

神社やお寺で参拝をするとき、柄杓（ひしゃく）で水をすくって身と心を清める場所を手水舎（ちょうずしゃ）というのですが、手水舎の手水鉢（ちょうずばち）に花を浮かべたものが花手水（はなちょうず）と呼ばれています。

Hana-temizuya is a Japanese tradition of placing flowers in water basins at shrines and temples. Hana-temizuya are used for purification and to calm the mind.
The flowers in a hana-temizuya change with the seasons, and they provide a beautiful and calming sight for visitors.
Hana-temizuya also add to the beauty of the shrine or temple grounds, and they provide a sense of peace and tranquility for visitors.
