冬に咲く花（１）flowers blooming in winter（12・１・２月)

Flowers that bloom in winter have unique shapes and colors that help them survive in the cold. Christmas roses continue to bloom even when the leaves fall off due to the cold weather. Cyclamen curl their leaves and go dormant in the cold of winter. Pansies and violas are often planted in winter gardens as they are cold tolerant. 冬の植物でも耐寒性がない花が多い

シクラメン

鉢花の女王と言われるシクラメンも、耐寒性のあるガーデンシクラメンが販売されて人気がありますが、以前は鉢花のみの販売でした。

皇帝ダリア

皇帝ダリアは冬の寒さにも耐えてよく咲いてくれますが、霜には弱いので霜が降りるまでのお楽しみとなります。
一般的に花は霜に弱く、栽培環境を良くしてあげて、簡易な温室や軒下等で霜除けすると冬越ししやすくなります。
耐寒性の基準としては、一般的にはー５℃に耐えられるかが目安となります。

ビ　オ　ラ

寒さの厳しい冬であっても、元気に花を咲かせてくれる植物はたくさんあります。
例えば、パンジーやビオラなどは10月頃から翌年の春まで屋外で咲き続けてくれます。
山茶花、椿、ロウバイ、梅などの樹木はあまり外気温に関係なく咲いてくれますが、庭のスペースに余裕がないと伐採することになってしまい残念です。
